here’s two topical items of interest.

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press has released an updated white paper on the impact the “war on terrorism” is having on access to information and the First Amendment. Proving such a serious-minded entity has at least a moderate sense of humor, it categorizes the danger using the threat levels and color codes used by the Department of Homeland Security.

Plamegate is not the only area where getting info from reporters has the FBI’s interest. This article in USA Today (via Gigalaw) says the FBI has told 13 reporters it may subpoena their records in connection with prosecution of a individual accused of hacking the NY Times web site.
