Common sense prevails

The abortion bill was defeated by one vote in the South Dakota Legislature. As I’ve said before, the problem here isn’t whether you’re pro this or anti that. What we were talking about doing was passing a law guaranteed to be challenged and which the cost was estimated to be no less than $500,000, a figure I think is low. Rather than fund education, health care or something equally important, that money would have been used solely for a political statement. It’s sad it took a “style and form” veto to bring this to a halt.
