- Augustana’s Center for Western Studies is having a huge book signing from 11:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m. April 23 as part of the 37th annual (PDF file) Dakota Conference on Northern Plains History, Literature, Art, and Archaeology. Among the more than two dozen authors scheduled to appear are former U.S. Sen. George McGovern; RenĂ©e Sansom Flood, author of Lost Bird of Wounded Knee; and Mark St. Pierre, author of Of Uncommon Birth: Dakota Sons in Vietnam. The event is at CWS and open to the public.

The facility is showing it can live up to the promise of bringing in arts and entertainment for all sorts of tastes.
Agreed. A year ago for my birthday I was able to draw a friend from Minneapolis to SF for Ben Folds. This year I was able to draw TWO to Elvis Costello.
