USA Today has a couple nice pieces on the USHL today. Still, maybe the reporter should have done a bit more fact checking. The main story reports: “Sioux Falls boasts a spacious $50 million arena.” Sure wish the guy would tell the Stampede and everyone here where it is. Not sure how much the current arena and improvements cost but the rink there is the smallest in the league and the sight lines are absolutely horrible.
Rapid City, meanwhile, is continuing to pursue the steps necessary to get a hockey franchise there. It is contemplating an addition to the Civic Center in excess of $20 million.
If you sat down as a hockey player and said, “I want to play in Kearney, Nebraska,” nobody would believe you.
