Google’s blog announces it has temporarily suspended scanning any in-copyright books into Google Print.
Why does this happen? A week ago, nothing I picked up to read seemed to grab me. In the last couple days, I’ve borrowed the Hugo-winning Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell and my library “holds” came in on Charlie Stross’s new book, Accelerando, and a Ray Bradbury biography. This, of course, just as I was getting pulled in by 102 Minutes, a book that’s been in the TBR pile for about three months. At least the short-range weather forecast is conducive to guilt-free reading (once I move my carcass away from this computer)!
There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them.
