As promised, Charles Stross has made his new book, Accelerando available in electronic format for free. It’s available via this website. He announced the e-book’s availability this morning in a post to a usenet newsgroup. After that, he had 4,000 downloads in the first four hours.
The newsgroup, devoted to discussion of written science fiction, has had an ongoing discussion about the wisdom of releasing an e-book for free while trying to sell the same work in hard cover. Charlie has taken it one step further. He’s made the book available online before his US publisher plans to release it.
My one purpose in writing . . . is simply to provide a katharsis for my own thoughts. They worry me until they are set forth in words.
