As I continue in the catch-up mode, here’s a few odds and ends:
- First, in light of my bemoaning age yesterday, I suppose I would be remiss if I did not note that today is Bruce Springsteen’s 56th birthday.
- You may have already seen my rant on “podcasts.” That aside, let me highly recommend an NPR podcast on books. Posted each Sunday, it is a collection of book reviews, news and author interviews aired on various NPR programs the prior week. It is the first one listed at the NPR Podcast Directory.
- Instapundit and The Truth Laid Bear have joined forces for Porkbusters, trying to cut down on the amount of pork in the federal budget. As part of the project, they are keeping track of every US Representative and Senator committing to cutting significant pork projects in their district or state.
- Banned Books Week starts tomorrow (Saturday). Celebrate both the First Amendment and the joys of reading by checking out or buying a book that has been banned or challenged. Or you can go to Banned Books Online.
