  • Tough to improve on what Sci-Fi Heaven says about the movie-going public:

    It’s a sad state of affairs when the mind-numbing gun-em-down monster flick based on a video game [DOOM] grosses more than the intelligent, witty, character-driven Serenity.Grr to you, America.

  • Wanted to mention a new addition to the blogroll. It’s Synthaetic Synapse, basically a photo blog by Dawnne Gee, a Harrisburg digital photographer. Some of his work is absolutely wonderful, as a quick visit to the site will demonstrate.
  • A hat tip to the people at Prometheus Books and its science fiction and fantasy imprint, Pyr. They’ve added me to their reviewer list and the first couple books arrived today. Reviews in the next week or so. And as long as I’m at it, you might check out Bowing to the Future, the blog of Lou Anders, Pyr’s editorial director.
  • Dakota War College announces there appears to be a GOP candidate against Stephanie Herseth. With one exception, his initial positions make him sound similar to Herseth. Oh oh. I forgot. Us liberals are supposed to support Herseth or else.
