- Not suprisingly, after winning this year’s Hugo Award for best novel, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell won in the same category for this year’s World Fantasy Awards. (Via SF Signal). The book is still sitting on the bedside bookshelf with a bookmark about one quarter of the way in.

- Even though it’s early November, Amazon is already posting its Best Books of 2005. I’ve read four of the titles in the Top 50 Books of 2005 with one in the “TBR” pile and another on the list of books to buy one of these days. I must admit being somewhat confused about how Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking (in the TBR pile) can be the number one book of the year but number two on the Memoirs list.
