Everyone in my office — and probably the entire South Dakota legal community — was saddened by the news this morning that Brent Wilbur died. Brent, a Pierre attorney, is going to be remembered in the media as a lobbyist and advisor and legal counsel to Gov. Rounds and former Gov. Janklow. Those of us in the profession, though, knew Brent as one hell of a lawyer and an even better person. We will miss him.
Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It’s the transition that’s troublesome.
